Prof. Dr. Verena Kast

Prof. Dr. Verena Kast is a Jungian analyst, lecturer, and author whose work has carried analytical psychology to a wide international readership. At ISAP Zurich she lectures and teaches on the psychology of emotion, the symbolic life of dreams, and the interpretation of fairy tales as maps of the developing psyche.

Her writing brings the clinical and the literary into close conversation, reading the great motifs of the fairy tale as living descriptions of psychological transformation. Generations of candidates have encountered analytical psychology first through her seminars and books.

Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.
