Getting in Touch with Sand – An Initial Approach to Sandplay

Sandplay is a depth psychology method in which a picture is created through creative, symbolic expression in the "free and protected space" of the therapeutic relationship. The picture is created with sand, water, and miniature objects. Sandplay therapy was developed by Dora Kalff based on the principles of Analytical Psychology. In my seminar with only four participants, I offer the opportunity to experience sandplay. The aim is to get in touch with the sand and to immerse oneself in the world of figures and objects and then create a sand picture.
