Privacy Policy
How ISAPZURICH collects, uses and protects personal data on this website.
This policy is a draft under review. It describes what this website actually does today. Passages marked to be confirmed are waiting on a decision by ISAPZURICH and its data-protection adviser, and have deliberately been left open rather than filled with a plausible guess.
Last updated 4 August 2026.
Who is responsible
The International School of Analytical Psychology Zurich (ISAPZURICH) operates this website. This policy explains what personal data the site collects, why, who it is shared with, and what rights you have.
To be confirmed: a named data-protection contact, and a postal address people can write to with data-protection requests.
What we collect, and why
When you browse the site. Our host records standard server logs. We measure how the site is used with two tools: one that sets no cookies and collects no personal data, and one that does. The second, together with advertising measurement on our counselling site, loads only if you accept it in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
When you contact us. The contact form sends us your name, your email address and your message. It is delivered as email, and the site does not store it.
When you subscribe to the newsletter. The signup link takes you to our newsletter provider, and your subscription is held there under their terms, not on this site. To be confirmed: the newsletter audience is not live yet, so this paragraph describes an intention rather than something happening today.
When you buy access to a lecture. We record your name, your email address, what you bought, the amount, and a payment reference. Card details are never seen by, or stored on, this site: the payment happens on our payment provider's own pages. We use these records to send you your confirmation, your access link and, if you bought one, your confirmation of attendance, and to keep our own accounts.
When you have a portal account. Students and analysts sign in to a portal. We hold the name, email address and password you set, and the profile you maintain there: your contact details, and for a public profile your biography, credentials, photograph and publications. Students' records also carry the administrative details the school keeps, such as student type, enrolment status, student number and cohort.
When you enrol or register through the portal. We record what you submitted: the semester, the courses you chose and the order you ranked them in, when you submitted it, and the outcome.
When a student refers a client to the counselling service. The details are emailed to the studies department and are not stored on this website.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We pass it to the following service providers, only as far as each needs it to do its job.
| Provider | What reaches them | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Our hosting provider, in Switzerland | Everything stored on the site | Running the website |
| Our payment provider | Your name, email address and the purchase | Taking payment. Card details go to them directly and never to us. |
| Our transactional email provider | Your name, email address and the message | Sending confirmations, access links and password emails |
| Our search provider | The public content of the site | The search box. Portal and account data are not indexed. |
| Our newsletter provider | Your email address, if you subscribe | Sending the newsletter |
| Our analytics providers | Usage data, and for the second one only after you consent | Understanding how the site is used |
| Our video platform | Nothing from us. You follow a link and their terms apply. | The video library |
| The meeting platform used for online events | Nothing from us. You follow a link and their terms apply. | Attending an event online |
To be confirmed: whether to name each company, and to state where each of them processes data. Naming them is more transparent and is usually what people expect.
How long we keep it
To be confirmed: retention periods for purchase and payment records, where accounting rules set a minimum; for portal accounts after someone leaves; for registration and enrolment records; and for contact-form email. As things stand the site deletes nothing automatically, and a former student's account and records are deliberately kept rather than removed.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and object to how it is used. Portal members can change most of their own details at any time under Profile. For anything else, write to the address above.
Cookies and external media
The cookie banner offers three categories. This policy uses the same names, so that what you agree to and what is described here cannot drift apart.
Essential. Required for the site to function (session, your consent choice). Always active.
External media. Embedded third-party content such as Instagram posts. Loads scripts and cookies from the provider.
Analytics & marketing. Google Analytics, and on our counselling site the Google Ads conversion measurement. Helps us understand how the site is used. Loads scripts and cookies from Google.
Before you choose, only the essential category is active. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
