Overview
Overview
The Diploma Programme is the only postgraduate training of its kind that is fully and officially grounded in the concepts of C.G. Jung as they evolved at the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich. It addresses candidates who intend to practise as Jungian Analysts and who are prepared to undertake the sustained inner and scholarly work that such a vocation requires.
Formation proceeds along three interwoven strands: personal analysis as the experiential core, theoretical study situating that experience within analytical psychology, and supervised practice carrying the work outward into responsible engagement with analysands of one's own.
- A required programme of personal Jungian analysis
- A sequenced curriculum of theory and clinical seminars
- Supervised clinical practice with experienced analysts
- A written thesis and a concluding Diploma examination
- Membership in a global hybrid scholarly community
Structure
The Course of Training
- Propaedeuticum
- A foundational phase introducing the principles of analytical psychology, comparative mythology, and the history of the discipline, concluded by a propaedeutic examination.
- Personal Analysis
- An ongoing requirement throughout training — sustained personal Jungian analysis with an accredited training analyst, forming the experiential ground of the candidate's later clinical work.
- Theory Seminars
- A structured curriculum of seminars in dream interpretation, complex theory, archetypal and clinical psychology, association experiment, and related fields, offered on-site and via Zoom.
- Clinical Practicum
- Supervised analytic work with analysands of one's own, accompanied by documented clinical hours and continuing case study under the guidance of the training committee.
- Supervision
- Regular individual and group supervision of clinical practice, ensuring that the candidate's developing analytic stance is examined, refined, and held to professional standard.
- Thesis & Diploma Examination
- An original written thesis and a concluding oral examination before the faculty, on the successful completion of which the Diploma in Analytical Psychology is conferred.
