Health Insurance

In general every person that lives or works in Switzerland needs to have health insurance, regardless of their nationality. You will need to organize a health insurance within three months after moving to Switzerland.

Students with an EU-nationality may be exempted from taking out a Swiss insurance, if they have a European Health Insurance Card. More info on the ETH website.

A relatively cheap option for students who are only temporarily in Switzerland is to get health insurance with Swisscare. You can only insure at this company if you are exempted from the compulsory Swiss insurance.
